bù

1. adverb not (negates will, habit, future action or a property)

2. adverb inserted into a verb-complement pair: cannot (unstressed bu)

   我听不懂。

   I cannot understand it.

3. interjection no (as an answer)

   No, that is not what I meant.

4. particle sentence-final question particle: …or not?

   你去不？

   Nǐ qù bu?

   Are you going or not?
