  1. pronoun which (can take a measure word directly)

    你是哪国人?

    Nǐ shì nǎ guó rén?

    Which country are you from?

  2. pronoun how...? (rhetorical negation or rebuke: 哪能, 哪知道)

    我哪知道他去哪儿了?

    Wǒ nǎ zhīdào tā qù nǎr le?

    How would I know where he went?

  3. pronoun any; whichever (with 都/也)

    这两个苹果都很新鲜,哪一个都行。

    Zhè liǎng gè píngguǒ dōu hěn xīnxiān, nǎ yī gè dōu xíng.

    Both apples are fresh, either one will do.

  1. pronoun which (fusion of 哪 and 一, before a measure word)

  1. modal particle variant of particle 啊 after a final -n

    Good heavens, this is way too expensive!
