1. verb to follow

   他小时候随父母移居国外。

   Tā xiǎoshíhou suí fùmǔ yíjū guówài.

   As a child he moved abroad with his parents.

2. verb to let (someone) do as they please

   去不去随你，我不勉强。

   Qù bu qù suí nǐ, wǒ bù miǎnqiǎng.

   Go or not — it's up to you; I won't insist.

3. preposition along with (随着)

   随着年龄的增长，他越来越稳重。

   Suízhe niánlíng de zēngzhǎng, tā yuèláiyuè wěnzhòng.

   With age, he has grown steadier and steadier.

4. verb to take after (colloquial)

   这孩子长得随他爸爸。

   Zhè háizi zhǎng de suí tā bàba.

   The child takes after his father.
