lǐ

1. noun inside (locative word)

   教室里有一只猫。

   Jiàoshì lǐ yǒu yī zhī māo.

   There is a cat in the classroom.

2. measure word li (unit of length, 500 meters)

   他家离学校只有二里路。

   Tā jiā lí xuéxiào zhǐ yǒu èr lǐ lù.

3. noun neighborhood; lane; a basic residential unit (as in 邻里)
