sù

1. adjective plain; simple (color)

   她平时穿得很素。

   Tā píngshí chuān de hěn sù.

   She usually dresses very plainly.

2. noun vegetarian food

   他吃素已经很多年了。

   Tā chī sù yǐjīng hěn duō nián le.

   He has been a vegetarian for many years.

3. adverb always; usually (literary)
