呗(bei) — meaning, uses and examples

1. modal particle particle: it's only natural / one can only do so (matter-of-fact or resigned)

   坏了就修呗。

   Huài le jiù xiū bei.

   If it's broken, just fix it.

2. modal particle particle: casual request (colloquial)

   让我尝一口呗。

   Ràng wǒ cháng yī kǒu bei.

   Let me have a taste, come on.
