1. adjective same; alike

   我们俩同岁。

   Wǒmen liǎ tóng suì.

   We two are the same age.

2. adverb together; jointly

   他们同住一个宿舍。

   Tāmen tóng zhù yī ge sùshè.

   They share a dorm room.

3. preposition with; and

   这事同你没关系。

   Zhè shì tóng nǐ méi guānxi.

   This has nothing to do with you.

4. correlative conjunction and (linking noun phrases; formal)

   我同他一起去。

   Wǒ tóng tā yīqǐ qù.

   I will go together with him.
