加上

jiāshàng

1. verb to add; to add on

   汤里再加上一点盐。

   Tāng lǐ zài jiāshàng yīdiǎn yán.

   Add a little more salt to the soup.

2. correlative conjunction plus; add to that; on top of that

   天太黑，加上下雨，路更难走了。

   Tiān tài hēi, jiāshàng xià yǔ, lù gèng nán zǒu le.

   It was very dark, and on top of that it was raining, so the road was even harder to walk.
