谁

1. pronoun who

   门外是谁？

   Mén wài shì shuí?

   Who's at the door?

2. pronoun anyone; whoever (谁都, 谁也)

   这个问题谁都会。

   Zhège wèntí shuí dōu huì.

   Anyone can answer this question.

3. pronoun someone (indefinite)

   好像谁在敲门。

   Hǎoxiàng shéi zài qiāo mén.

   It sounds like someone is knocking.

4. pronoun 谁…谁…: whoever... (the same person in both clauses)

   谁想去，谁就去。

   Shéi xiǎng qù, shéi jiù qù.

   Whoever wants to go can go.

5. pronoun who...? (rhetorical: no one)

   谁知道呢？

   Shéi zhīdào ne?

   Who knows? (No one knows.)

6. pronoun somebody special or close (咱俩谁跟谁; 他是谁)

   咱俩谁跟谁啊！

   Zán liǎ shéi gēn shéi a!

   We are close friends.
