和hé

1. correlative conjunction and (the most common linker of noun phrases)

   我和你都是学生。

   Wǒ hé nǐ dōu shì xuésheng.

   You and I are both students.

2. preposition with; to

   我想和你商量一件事。

   Wǒ xiǎng hé nǐ shāngliang yī jiàn shì.

   I want to discuss something with you.

3. adjective gentle; harmonious

   世界和平

   shìjiè hépíng

   world peace

和hè

1. verb to echo; to chime in (written)

   他们俩一唱一和。

   Tāmen liǎ yī chàng yī hè.

   The two of them sing the same tune, echoing each other.

和huó

1. verb to knead (dough); to mix with water

   妈妈在和面。

   Māma zài huó miàn.

   Mom is kneading dough.

和hú

1. verb to win a hand (in mahjong and similar Chinese tile games)

   我打麻将从来没有和牌过。

   Wǒ dǎ májiàng cónglái méiyǒu hú pái guo.

   I have never won a hand in mahjong.
