jīhū

1. adverb almost; nearly

   他几乎每天都迟到。

   Tā jīhū měitiān dōu chídào.

   He is late almost every day.

2. adverb very nearly (of something undesirable that did not happen)

   我几乎摔倒。

   Wǒ jīhū shuāidǎo.

   I very nearly fell.
