准

zhǔn

1. adverb definitely; for sure (colloquial)

   你放心，他准来。

   Nǐ fàngxīn, tā zhǔn lái.

   Don't worry — he'll definitely come.

2. adjective accurate; precise

   他的发音很准。

   Tā de fāyīn hěn zhǔn.

   His pronunciation is very accurate.

3. verb to allow; to permit

   图书馆里不准大声说话。

   Túshūguǎn lǐ bù zhǔn dàshēng shuōhuà.

   Loud talking is not allowed in the library.
