yīdàn

1. correlative conjunction once; if one day (often with 就)

   一旦下雨，比赛就取消。

   Yīdàn xiàyǔ, bǐsài jiù qǔxiāo.

   If it rains, the match will be canceled.

2. noun in a single day; in a very short time (mostly of destruction)

   多年的心血毁于一旦。

   Duō nián de xīnxuè huǐyú yīdàn.

   Years of hard work were destroyed in a single day.
