1. adverb without exception; all

   图书馆内一律禁止吸烟。

   Túshūguǎn nèi yīlǜ jìnzhǐ xīyān.

   Smoking is prohibited without exception in the library.

2. adjective uniform; all alike

   格式不必强求一律。

   Géshì bùbì qiǎngqiú yīlǜ.
